Dad of Crazy Twins

For our latest review The Twiglets and I have reviewed "The Boss Baby". We went to see this at the local Odeon on "Kids Club" on the first day of the Summer Holidays. We took my Dad to see it too as he secretly loves a cartoon. Here are our thoughts...   The Boss Baby     WARNING: COULD CONTAIN SPOILERS     Describe "The Boss Baby" in a nut shell:   Ruby: A boy gets a baby brother who is the Boss Baby. They don't like each other. Then they do.   Poppy: The little boy doesn't like it when the Boss Baby comes to his house but then they become friends.   Me:  I could describe this in two ways:   1) On The Surface - This is essentially what the twins said. A boy gets a new little brother who is the Boss Baby and they don't get along. Then they do get along as they have to team up to save their parents from disaster.   2) Beneath The Surface - For a kids cartoon this is pretty complex....

Christmas 2015 the twins received V-Tech cameras off their grandparents. They love them and whenever we go anywhere they like to take them with them and take photographs. It would also appear they quite like taking photos of each other, doing selfies and using the built in software to manipulate photographs. I uploaded their photos to my laptop and I randomly picked 5 from each and the twins are now going to explain them and why they took them. Last weekend we went to Kids Club at the local Odeon Cinema to see "The LEGO Batman Movie". Ruby has been dying to see it for ages as she is a big Batman fan (she's a fan of all the superheroes) and Poppy has been dying to see it because Ruby has. Here is our review... This week the Twiglet's and I are reviewing "Despicable Me 3" which is the third movie in the "Despicable Me" series (not that you'd ever have guessed that). As you have probably guessed from my blog posts I am a big movie fan and, naturally, so are the twins. I do find the cinema an expensive activity though as it can sometimes cost upward of £40 for myself, Kate and the twins to see a new release. Because of this we generally go and see movies when they come on the "Kids Club" at our local Odeon as it is only £2.50 a ticket. Sometimes, however, I will splash out and take the kids to see a new movie in the week of release. Yesterday (07/07/17) was my birthday and I wanted to go and see " Spiderman: Homecoming ". Ruby is a huge Spiderman fan too so she has been dying to see this since she saw the first trailer. So Kate and I got the tickets, we picked up the twins from school and we went to see it yesterday afternoon. This is the first time we have watched a 12A with the twins and I was a little worried that it may be a bit too "grown up" for them but I figured this was a good movie to try for their first 1...

Following on from my post last week I decided to continue my discussion of movies I can't wait to watch with the twins. For this post, however, I decided I would pick 5 movies that are totally bizarre, obscure, strange and, well, a bit shit...but brilliant (for all the wrong reasons)!!! Here goes: Disclaimer: I am fully, fully aware that all of these movies are terrible - please don't judge me - we all enjoy movies that we know suck balls! The Brady Bunch Movie   I thought I would start out with something a bit light hearted and easy going - "The Brady Bunch Movie". This movie was one of the first TV shows to be adapted in to a big Hollywood movie with a lot of hype behind it. Like most big Hollywood movies based on TV shows it ended up being a critical flop but did modestly well at the Box Office...well enough to warrant a sequel. I, personally, enjoy this movie. Brockhole on Windermere     Brockhole is one of my favourite places to take the twins when we are visiting The Lake District. Situated on the A591 between Ambleside and Windermere it is a very easy place to find and once you are there you can easily spend the whole day there.   When you arrive at Brockhole you are straight in to the car park and your car is registered as you drive in. Parking isn't free but it isn't ridiculously over the top price wise. Every time we have been we have spent a good 5-6 hours there and parking has been around £5/£6 give or take. There are plenty parking spaces and a decent overflow and on busier days (such as during school holidays) attendants will direct you to a spot.   Once you are in the signs will direct you to “The Visitor Centre” which is a large building that contains: Reception Gift Shop Toilets Café Upstairs in “The Visitor Centre” is: Indoor Soft Play (for under 5's) Creativity ...
